Here is my experience staying at One King West Hotel and Residence!
Enter through the revolving door and take a step into one of Toronto’s historic buildings filled with elegance and charm. You are greeted by the elegant crystal chandeliers handing from the ceiling above the marble staircases. The service from the front desk, concierge, waitstaff and more are excellent and will make you feel right at home no matter how long your stay.
One King West Hotel and Residence was originally the home to Michie & Co. Grocers and Wine up until 1879 when the property changed hands and became The Dominion Bank. In early 1900’s the building burnt down in the great fire of Toronto and had to be rebuilt in 1914. The building would remain a bank building until 1999 when it again changed ownership, this time the historic bank was transformed into a hotel and residential building. A new section of the building was erected and the interior of the building was re-designed to keep it historic charm with modern elegance. One King West Hotel and Residence was complete in 2006 was officially open to the public.

No matter what room you check into all of the rooms are suites that come with a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, oven and dishwaster, flat screen tvs, work area. There are two different towers in the hotel the Historic Suites and Tower Suites. The historic suites are in the original building but they are anything but old all these rooms have been recently renovated and decorated with a modern flare. The rooms are described as compact but surprisingly spacious.
The Tower Suites are part of the 51-story Tower that is home to both the hotel suites and residential condos. With the high views these suites feature some extraordinary views of both the city and the lake.
I checked into a Tower Deluxe Suite which featured a King-size bed, stylish living area, four kitchen and four piece bathroom. This beautiful suite located on the 30th floor of the building I had a great view of the lake, the surrounding buildings and the CN tower and so much natural light it made it the perfect place to sit and relax and enjoy the suite.
The kitchen in the Tower Deluxe Suite comes fully equipped with lots of space in cupboards for food, fridge, oven, utensils, plates and more. Perfect for those who would prefer to prepare an easy meal in or a quick breakfast before you start the day instead of eating out for every meal. There is no kitchen table for eating your meal but there are two chairs with a small coffee table as well as the work desk.
